My Healing Era
My Healing Era is a therapy podcast for women who want to break free from the toxic cycles that are keeping them stuck, and end the "not good enough" narrative in their head.
This podcast covers unfiltered conversations around topics like healing from dieting, hustle culture, mental health, body image, nervous system regulation, stress, food freedom... and so much more! We'll also get right down to the nitty gritty on which wellness trends to stay clear of, and what actually works and what doesn't.
And don't worry, I'm a therapist who gets it. I'm a recovered chronic dieter, anxiety warrior, and workaholic, and now I help women just like you heal from diet culture & hustle culture!

Trauma & Dieting... What's the Subconscious Connection?
In this solo podcast episode, Savana talks about the subconscious reasons why someone who has experienced trauma may take comfort in dieting. Savana educates listeners on how the subconscious mind works, and how dieting may be a subconscious process to perpetuate patterns of feelings stemming from trauma.
If you're someone who diets and also puts others feelings before your own, are constantly never feeling good enough, do things like chew gum instead of eat food to respond to your body's hunger, say things like "I hate when life get's too quiet so I like to keep busy", have high standards for yourself and feel a need to be productive, this is a podcast episode you won't want to miss! This episode covers the following:
- how the subconscious mind and nervous system work (and why you end up in the same ol patterns over and over again)
- why dieting may actually feel like a traumatic experience to our body without us consciously identifying it as trauma
- the traits that diet culture, trauma, and unhealthy relationships have in common
- how dieting fractures our relationship with our body and why this experience may feel similar to those who have experienced trauma
- why you crave stress hormones after experiencing trauma, and how the diet cycle perpetuates this cycle
- how dieting may feel comforting to someone who hasn't felt a sense of control or agency over themselves or their life
- the fascinating subconscious reason why you may be dieting if you feel or believe that you're not good enough
- 2 actionable steps you can take to begin to break the cycle of perpetuating your stress and trauma through dieting
